As the oil and water settled in the bottles, they were able to point out the three different layers of the ocean! J Finger puppets and witch or monster fingers are major favorites! I never pay full price for them- right now is the perfect time to find them on clearance- look in the summer clearance section.

A little novelty goes a LONG way! Also, make sure that you keep them in your refrigerator up until the point that you are going to take them out to show them to your class.

I use the colored dot stickers to help my students know what Guided Reading Level they are on… These are fancy pre-printed labels from Scholastic. Sight words These are sight words sets, bound together. My students easily recognized it as the twilight zone. If you said the Dollar Store- you deserve a gold star!

Language arts lessons are organized into a series of chapters that introduce and cover: I have a pretty fantastic collection of tools I use for Guided Reading groups. I have some word mats that have word families on them but most of the time we use our 5 weekly sight words.
